Responsible AI & Technology Policy

Human-centred principles for responsible AI and technology use.

BergMetric policyVersion 2.0Updated 26 October 2026Effective date: 1 January 2026

Please read this policy alongside your product details or written service agreement. Your statutory rights remain protected, and updates do not retrospectively change existing agreements.

People and accountability

AI should support people and meaningful judgement. For each engagement we agree the purpose, responsible owner, approved tools, limitations and review arrangements. No customer-facing AI engine processes website enquiries.

Confidential information

Sensitive or confidential information must not be entered into unapproved AI services. Before use, agree authority, necessary data, minimisation, retention and provider settings. Provider training exclusions and storage locations must be checked rather than assumed.

Accuracy and human review

AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete or biased. Important facts and consequential recommendations require appropriate human review. Project testing includes agreed use cases, limitations and escalation or fallback arrangements. We do not guarantee perfect accuracy or a particular financial result.

Fairness and higher-risk uses

Assess bias, accessibility and impacts on affected people. Employment, health, safety, children’s information and decisions significantly affecting rights require project-specific safeguards. We may narrow or decline work where risks cannot be reasonably addressed. BergMetric is not represented as a regulated clinical, legal or financial adviser.

Transparency and ongoing review

Explain where AI is used and how it supports decisions. Assess applicable automated decision-making transparency requirements, including obligations for relevant APP entities from 10 December 2026. Monitoring, material changes and support are agreed according to actual risk and scope.

Concerns

Contact us about suspected misuse or unreliable recommendations without sending confidential datasets in an initial email. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies consumer guarantees, rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Australian Consumer Law and any other applicable mandatory protections remain in effect.
